Spectacular and challenging landscapes... |

The crew is working very hard to turn Fyne Spirit into a unique yacht that will be the attraction of every port she enters and every bay she drops anchor.
It is very good to hear all the positive reactions when I talk about Fyne Spirit. I cannot wait to go to sea and share my enthusiasm with our passengers.
The fact that Fyne Spirit will be able to cater for different kinds of groups, from 6 doubles to 12 singles, will guarantee a great variation in voyages with a different challenge every cruise. |

200 years ago the Sea Battle of Trafalgar, west of Cadiz, in the Atlantic, won by Admiral Horatio Nelson, against joint forces of France and Spain, spelling the end of French and Spanish sea power. Napoleon had to concentrate on the army to gain power in Europe. Great Britain now held absolute dominion over the sea for the 19th century. English sea trade worldwide developed undisturbed, protected by the Navy. The British controlled world trade is well known and history. However, more of interest is, that the British Navy explored all oceans, sea currents and climate, sea charts were created, basic groundwork for all coming oceanography was laid. From James Cook to Darwin, a great legacy. It helped to understand and realize the impact sea has on our world.

After visiting a town of Oban, it is now time to go back to nature, so we will head for our next destination on our Hebrides Classic cruise, Glencoe.
The Glencoe area offers some of the most spectacular and challenging landscapes of Europe. This area is suitable for the experienced walker, as well as the beginners.
Cycle routes are being developed throughout the area. There is a well signposted circular route taking you into the Glen and for the more adventurous, off road mountain biking is available along 4x4 tracks.
A 9-hole golf course opened in July 2001. The Dragon´s Tooth golf course is situated at the mouth of Glencachulish, only three miles from Glencoe. It is a wonderful creation using natural features.
For the less active there is Ben Nevis Distillery, established in 1825, and one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. The distillery is nestled at the foot of Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, which has a summit elevation of 4406 feet above sea level. This imposing mountain provides an impressive background to a traditional Scottish craft.
