We've got work to do ...
Easter Saturday…, so 5 months to go before inauguration. Everyone is working hard and a lot of work is being done, even though sometimes it is hard to see the actual progress. This week the main focus was the engine. They continued to dismantle the engine and clean the tanks. The funnel was taken off for the shore crane to reach the main engine and auxiliary engine.

During this stage of the project a lot of activity is going on shore side. The planning is being finalised; electrical-architectural-woodwork-bridge equipment-communication-…etc., so as soon as the rough structure and the engine room are done, electricians and carpenters can go on board and continue the construction.

A representative from Lloyd´s Register was on board for inspection. He approved the tanks and gave the green light to go ahead with the planned works in the engine room.

Loch Fyne is the longest and undisputed most beautiful sea loch of Scotland, and Inveraray the jewel in the crown of it all, with The Duke and Duchess of Argyll living in Inveraray Castle. We could not find a better place to start and finish our weekly trips along the Scottish West Coast.

Cruising the Western Isles of Scotland and the extended Clyde Estuary is a special treat. Ancient castles, wildlife, wale watching, distilleries, golf courses, fishing, lonesome islands with beaches and rocky shorelines to visit and discover. There is a unique Celtic culture present, expressed in music, clans, and mystic lore. FYNE SPIRIT is part of all that, passing and anchoring close by, to mention a few: Mull of Kintyre, Iona, Isle of the Saints, Islay, ancient seat of the chief of the powerful Clan MacDonald, Tobermory in Mull, Oban, all places of outstanding beauty.

Fyne Spirit takes you there! Highlands and Islands - it is God's own. Guests are invited to join the skipper up on the bridge.

  Home by the sea: Inveraray

The homeport of Fyne Spirit in Scotland will be Inveraray, the start and finish of our cruises to the Hebrides and Clyde and Bute. It is located a one and half hour drive north of Glasgow airport and a two hour drive from Prestwick airport (Ryanair).

Inveraray is a very beautiful, peaceful and interesting place to stay a few days before or after the cruise, to visit the castle & the jail, go for horse riding, hiking or a game of golf, while staying in one of the local hotels or B&Bs.
